Tektites are a natural glass formed as the result of a meteorite impact. the most famous of the tektites are moldavites from the Czech Republic. Moldavite tektites are thought to have formed thousands of years ago by the meteorite that created the Reiss crater in nearby Germany. Other tektites are found in the Phillipines (Rizalites), Australia (Australites) and China.
