Sapphire Crystal
Sapphire is the name of a form of Corundum, which is almost as hard as diamonds. The colors of Sapphire vary from brown and purple to blue. The blue sapphire crystal pictured here is mineral specimen quality and not to be confused with the much more expensive gem grade sapphire. You could even call it blue corundum, but sapphire is what it is, and sapphire sounds a whole lot better. Terminated sapphire crystals like this are unusual.
