Nuummite is a volcanic gemstone formed from a mixture of two minerals billions of years ago. It is one of the oldest gemstones on earth. Nuummite is irridescent with bright colored metallic flakes on a dark brown to black background. The name nuummite comes from the town of Nuuk, Greenland. Gem quality nuummite has only been found in several localities near Nuuk. It is not found in this quality anywhere else on earth!
