Meteorites are chunks of stone or metal that have fallen from the sky. A Meteorite falling to earth is not unusual, but a witnessed meteorite falling is a rare event. There are only a handful recorded, most notably the Sikhote Alin Meteorite that fell in Siberia in 1947 and the Nantan Meteorite from China in 1516. More recently was the in Meteorite Peekskill, New York that fell into a parked car during dinnertime a few years ago and in Odessa, India, a Meteorite was witnessed earlier this year crashing through the roof of a house.
