Blue Fluorite #436

This specimen was mined in the world famous Blue Fluorite mine of Bingham, New Mexico. In one of the hottest pockets known to be found there, called the "glory hole". This special crystal pocket produced an extremely distinctive color of blue fluorite crystals with some quartz, barite and galena. It is has been pretty much exhausted and becoming dangerous to dig further. So it looks like we have probably one of the world's largest collections in stock. You can have a beautiful example of the renowned Bingham Blue fluorite if you win this auction. This is a matrix specimen as is most of the fluorite from this location. The general color of the Fluorite crystals is deep sky blue, although it ranges from blue jean blue to purple. The matrix is basalt.
